FAQ

Is the image uploaded to a server?

No. Rotation happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.

Why is there a white border around my rotated JPG?

JPG doesn't support transparency, so when you rotate by a non-90° angle the empty corners are filled with white. If you want the corners to stay transparent, save as PNG or WEBP first using our format converter.

What's the difference between 90° Left and 90° Right?

"90° Left" rotates counter-clockwise (the top of the image moves to the left). "90° Right" rotates clockwise (the top moves to the right). 180° flips the image upside-down.

What format do I get back?

The same format as your input (JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG, WEBP stays WEBP). AVIF inputs come back as PNG since browsers can't write AVIF yet.

What's the maximum angle?

You can rotate from −180° to +180° in 1° steps. For 90° or 180° rotations the output stays pixel-perfect; arbitrary angles use the Canvas API's high-quality sampling.
