Photo
- Recent passport-size colour photo on a white background, JPG, not more than 15 KB.
- GSSSB and GPSC ask for the date the photo was taken to be visible on it; GSSSB says it must be within one year before the last date to apply.
- Use the same photo at every stage of the recruitment, up to appointment.
Signature
- Sign in black or blue ink on white paper; the signature must be clearly readable.
- JPG, not more than 15 KB.
Before you apply
- OJAS gives the size only in centimetres; the pixel sizes above are our conversion at 150 DPI. Pixel figures like "150 × 190 px" seen on other websites are not from an official source.
- GPSC collects the photo and signature during One Time Registration (OTR); GSSSB and GPRB collect them with each application on OJAS.
- The Gujarat Police Recruitment Board (GPRB) notice confirms the 15 KB JPG limit but does not state centimetre sizes; the common OJAS size is the safe choice.
- A GSSSB notice (25.08.2026) announces OJAS 2.0 with Aadhaar-based registration and photo and signature taken from DigiLocker (up to 200 KB each). It was not in use on 19 October 2026 — check the advertisement you are applying for.
How to prepare and upload your OJAS Gujarat files, step by step
- Find out which board runs the recruitment. GPSC takes the photo and signature once, during One Time Registration (OTR); GSSSB and Gujarat Police (GPRB) take them with each application on ojas.gujarat.gov.in.
- Read the advertisement and check whether it still uses the 15 KB OJAS upload or the new OJAS 2.0 DigiLocker route.
- Get a recent passport-size colour photo on a white background. For GSSSB and GPSC the date it was taken must be visible on the photo, and GSSSB wants it taken within one year before the last date to apply.
- Sign on white paper with black or blue ink, large and clear enough to read easily.
- In the tool above, open the Photo tab. It converts the 5 cm × 3.6 cm OJAS size to 213 × 295 px at 150 DPI and keeps the JPG at 15 KB or less. Keep the date stamp inside the crop.
- Open the Signature tab, tick "Make the paper pure white" and make a 443 × 148 px JPG (2.5 × 7.5 cm at 150 DPI) of 15 KB or less.
- Upload both files on OJAS — at OTR for GPSC, or in the application form for GSSSB and GPRB — and print the confirmation.
- Save the photo file and a few prints. The same photo has to be used at every stage of the recruitment, right up to appointment.
Why OJAS Gujarat uploads get rejected — and how to fix each one
- Photo or signature larger than 15 KB. Fix: OJAS refuses anything above 15 KB. Make the file in the tool, which lowers the JPEG quality until it fits.
- No date visible on the photo (GSSSB or GPSC). Fix: Both ask for the date the photo was taken to appear on it. Get a dated photo and keep the date inside the crop.
- Photo older than one year for a GSSSB post. Fix: GSSSB wants a photo from within one year before the last date to apply. Take a new one.
- A different photo used at a later stage. Fix: Use the same photo at every stage up to appointment; keep the file you uploaded.
- Signature faint, in pencil, or hard to read. Fix: Sign in black or blue ink on white paper so it is clearly readable, then whiten the paper in the tool.
- Photo made to unofficial pixel sizes such as 150 × 190 px. Fix: Those figures are not from an official source. Use the 5 × 3.6 cm OJAS size, which the tool converts for you.
