CUET UG Photo & Signature Size 2026

CUET UG takes a colour photo of 10–200 KB and a signature of 10–50 KB. The signature limit is lower than JEE Main and NEET (100 KB), so a file made for those exams may be too big here.

JPG, PNG or WebP. It stays on your device — nothing is uploaded.

Rules for each upload

Photo

  • Recent scanned passport-size photo in COLOUR.
  • About 80% of the photo should be your face (including ears, without mask) on a white background.
  • A live photo is also captured by webcam or phone while you fill the form.

Signature

  • JPG/JPEG, clearly legible, 10 KB to 50 KB.

Before you apply

  • Do not reuse a JEE Main or NEET signature file without checking its size — CUET allows only up to 50 KB.
  • ID proof (if not using Aadhaar/DigiLocker) is a JPG of 10–200 KB.

How to prepare and upload your CUET UG files, step by step

  1. Get the CUET (UG) 2026 Information Bulletin from cuet.nta.nic.in. CUET is the common entrance used for university admission, and its limits are set in that bulletin, not borrowed from other NTA exams.
  2. Decide how you will prove your identity. With Aadhaar or DigiLocker no ID image is needed; otherwise scan your ID proof as a JPG of 10–200 KB.
  3. Prepare a recent scanned passport-size photo in colour: white background, no mask, and your face — ears included — taking up roughly 80% of the picture.
  4. Sign on white paper. Remember that the CUET signature file may not exceed 50 KB, so a clean, simple scan works best.
  5. In the tool above, pick the Photo tab and produce a 3.5 : 4.5 JPG that falls between 10 and 200 KB.
  6. Pick the Signature tab, tick "Make the paper pure white" and produce a 3 : 1 JPG. The tab is capped at 50 KB for CUET, so it will not hand you a 60 or 90 KB file.
  7. If you need the ID proof JPG, shrink it with the "Compress to any KB" tool linked at the bottom of this page until it sits inside 10–200 KB.
  8. While you fill the CUET UG form, a live photo is taken by webcam or phone; then upload the photo, signature and, if needed, the ID proof.
  9. Already made a signature for JEE Main or NEET? Check its size first — anything above 50 KB has to be remade here.

Why CUET UG uploads get rejected — and how to fix each one

  • Signature between 50 KB and 100 KB, reused from JEE Main or NEET. Fix: CUET accepts up to 50 KB only. Make a new file in the Signature tab of this page.
  • Signature that cannot be read clearly. Fix: The bulletin asks for a clearly legible signature. Sign again, scan in good light and whiten the paper in the tool.
  • Photo not in colour. Fix: CUET asks for a colour passport-size photo. Scan a colour print or retake the photo.
  • Face too small, ears cut off, or a mask in the photo. Fix: About 80% of the picture should be your face, including ears, with no mask. Zoom in with the tool or retake the photo.
  • Background not white. Fix: Retake the photo against a white wall or sheet.
  • ID proof image too large, too small or not a JPG. Fix: If you are not using Aadhaar or DigiLocker, save the ID proof as a JPG between 10 and 200 KB.

CUET UG final checklist before you submit

  • Scanned colour photo, JPG, 10–200 KB, about 80% face with ears, white background.
  • Signature, JPG, 10–50 KB — not a 100 KB file from another exam.
  • ID proof JPG of 10–200 KB, only if Aadhaar or DigiLocker is not used.
  • Webcam or phone ready for the live photo during the form.
  • Limits confirmed in the CUET (UG) bulletin of your year.
