What is a HEIC file and why convert it?
HEIC is the high-efficiency format iPhones use for photos. It saves space, but many Windows PCs, Android phones and websites can't open it. Converting to JPG gives you a photo that opens everywhere. The first conversion loads a small decoder in your browser; after that it's fast — and nothing is ever uploaded.
What is the maximum file size?
There's no hard limit — it depends on your device's memory. Most photos under 50 MB convert in under a second.
What happens to transparency in PNG / WEBP?
JPG does not support transparency. Transparent pixels are filled with white in the converted JPG. If you need transparency, use the JPG-to-PNG or WEBP-to-PNG converters instead.
